Until May 15, 2024, TSU Media and TV Art College announces registration for the short-term certificate program "Film in 10 Weeks".
The purpose of the program is to introduce the audience to the specifics of film production, the stages of creating an idea into a screen piece, the role and importance of the director in film production. To study the issues related to cinematography, video editing and sound. To practically show how and in what order a "big" or "small" movie can be filmed and edited.
Brief description of the program:
The course is designed for those who:
- Who want to create his own original film;
- Want to test your abilities in the film industry;
- Need own work for portfolio;
- has time and wants to "travel" in the world of film production.
The course will be held three times a week - on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 19-21 hours and on Saturdays at 11-15 hours. The academic group is defined by 15 students; The first 15 registered applicants will be enrolled in the group.
Cost of the course is 1000 Gel.
In TSU College of Media and TV Arts, an extracurricular activity was carried out, within the framework of which the students of all seven vocational programs of the college took, edited and graphically formatted video files and photographs for recording the TV magazine "Tbilisi My City".
The goal of the project was to offer students a learning-practical project close to the production process, which allows evaluating the goals and tasks of the chosen professions in relation to their own abilities.
The project was led by visiting instructors from the college and its partner American school. The partner American organization this year is represented by Leonid Mazor - GHS-TV producer, director and screenwriter.

On October 19, 2023 the TSU Media and TV Art College hosted the presentation of diploma works and the graduation ceremony of the graduates of the photography program.

Lana Bliadze, a graduate of the LEPL Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University Media and TV Art College Photography Program won the special prize of the Jury of "Kolga Tbilisi Photo".
The photo competition "Kolga Tbilisi Photo" is held every year, the goal of which is to connect international photography with Georgia and promote the professional development of local photographers. The competition is announced in different nominations.
Lana Bliadze's diploma photo project "The rows of Tserovani" was submitted in the conceptual photography nomination.
“In 2008, as a result of the Russia-Georgia war, the territories of Georgia were occupied by Russia. The occupation continues to this day. Many people lost their homes. After the war, a settlement of displaced persons - Tserovani was built. Here all the houses and streets look alike and it is very easy to get lost. That is why, at the beginning of each row, the population made a sign with a number. The project presents 12 rows photographed with double exposure: a row and a sign with a number made by people” – The author writes.
According to the hanging committee’s decision, Lana Bliadze will go to Cologne, Germany, where she will participate in a group exhibition.

In order to introduce non-formal education in vocational educational institutions, a joint summary event of two projects implemented by the initiative of the Skills Agency Georgia was held in Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University Media and TV Art College.
Both projects implemented by the college were aimed at the preparation of educational and informative videos by students under the conditions of appropriate mentoring in order to promote vocational education and raise environmental awareness. In both
projects, participants had the opportunity to develop key competences such as digital and civic competences.
A project in partnership with GHS-TV at Germantown High School - "Effective Career Planning," aimed to have college students design and produce educational films about a variety of professions, including TV Directing, Video-Cinematography Art, Video Editing, and TV Computer Graphics, built on the principles of non-formal education.
The project implemented together with the organization "Lashkroba" - "Creation of cognitive-informative video films to raise environmental awareness" aimed to develop civic competences, based on practical training, along with the development of important skills for film creation. It is important that the eco-films created within the framework of the project ensure the raising of awareness among the members of the society on environmental issues and the delivery of recommendations related to the care of the environment to the society.

Organized by the Millennium Foundation, the 2022 winners of the National Vocational Education Award competition were announced. Traditional awards was held for the fifth time this year, and in addition to the five main competition categories, special prizes were established by the Parliament of Georgia and the Skills Agency Georgia.
Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University Media and TV Art College won in the nomination established by the Skills Agency Georgia - PR Campaign of the Year, in which, videos created by vocational students within the framework of the student club "Parachute" about vocational education, successful graduates and teachers were presented.
On November 8th the academic year has began for vocational students enrolled in 2022 admissions to Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University Media and TV Art College. The guests invited to the ceremony of welcoming the freshmen, congratulated the new stream of students on the start of the academic year and wished them luck. On March 18, 2022, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between TSU College of Media and Television Arts and the National Palace, which provides for the development of educational, research cooperation and joint projects.
The first joint video project was planned within the framework of the memorandum, which involved students of TV directing, journalism, photography, cinematography and editing programs.
At the initiative of the National Palace, the Gia Kancheli Tbilisi Youth Orchestra performed a musical work in support of Ukraine, which was photographed and videotaped by college students as part of a practical module. The event was held at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between TSU College of Media and Television Arts and the National Palace.
The memorandum was signed by the director of the palace, Tika Rukhadze and the director of the college Zurab Oshkhneli.
The memorandum envisages the organization of cultural, educational and youth projects and programs, as well as the implementation of joint projects and programs.
The training process for short-term training programs for Photo Editing and Video Editor-Graphic Designer has been successfully completed.
The duration of the Photo Editing program was 2 months. 15 students were enrolled in the program. 7 students successfully completed the training. The duration of the Video Editor-Graphic Designer program was 3 months. 15 students were enrolled in the program. 9 students completed the training successfully. In both programs, the learning process was carried out using a practical method, both in a real learning environment and through the online platform “Google Teams”.
On December 27 th , a cooking competition was held under the joint initiative of the LEPL Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University Media and TV Arts College and the N(N)LE -Vocational College "Ikarosi", which aimed to raise students' vocational qualifications and increase motivation.
Culinary colleges participated in the competition – N(N)LE - Vocational College "Ikarosi", LEPL - Community College "Mermisi", LEPL - Vocational College "Black Sea", LEPL - Community College "Akhali Talgha", LEPL - Ilya Tsinamdzghvrishvili Community College, LEPL - Community College “Aisi” and N(N)PL - Vocational College "Horizonti".
The competition task was to prepare a New Year's dish in a limited time. The competition was evaluated by the jury: Tamar Kitiashvili, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, Chef Esma Kunchulia, founder of the Gastronomic Museum, and Chef Tina Vashakidze. According to the jury's decision, the winner of the first place was Nana Nanava, a student of theLEPL - Community College "Mermisi”, to whom Zurab Oskhneli, the director of the LEPL Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University Media and TV Arts College, presented the main prize of the competition - chef's professional knife. Ms. Tamar Kitiashvili, whose favorite contestant from the N(N)LE - Vocational College "Ikarosi", gave symbolic gifts to all the participants of the competition on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. Ms. Tina Vashakidze’s favorite contestants were from the LEPL - Community College "Mermisi” and the LEPL - Community College “Aisi” and they will undergo an internship in her restaurant. Esma Kunchulia, the founder of the Gastronomic Museum, gave multifunctional watches to her two chosen students from the LEPL - Vocational College "Black Sea” and the N(N)PL - Vocational College "Horizonti". Photo and video recording of the culinary competition was provided by the students of the LEPL Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University Media and TV Arts College within the framework of the field summative practical training project.

On September 25, TSU College of Media and Television Arts hosted an online presentation of the UN project "Modernization of the Vocational Education and Training System in the Agricultural Sector", Phase 2. At the meeting, the PR managers of Modus College, New Wave, Opizari and Ilia Tsinamdzgvrishvili College presented the one-year PR campaign of the colleges. The presentation featured a screening of 4 informational videos shot and edited by the college creative team as part of the project. The project was attended by public relations managers of vocational colleges in the field of agriculture in Georgia, who were trained for a week on the following topics:

Under the auspices of the Georgian Film Academy, the International Internet Short Film Festival "Diogenes 2020" is being organized for those isolated due to quarantine.
Those wishing to participate (professionals and non-professionals) are given the opportunity to escape a state of depression together with family members, relatives or friends in a state of emergency, to create new, or complete already started projects and submit them to the festival competition.

TSU College of Media and Television Arts will take part in the implementation of the joint project "Teleskoli" of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Georgia and the First Channel.
The project started on March 30 and continues successfully.
From April 13, TSU College of Media and Television Arts will broadcast "First Channel-Education" TV lessons for ethnic minority students in Armenian and Azerbaijani languages. TV lessons are designed for students of all grades.
According to the decree of the Government of Georgia, in order to prevent the possible spread of coronavirus infection, the educational process in vocational and higher education institutions will be suspended from March 4 to March 16. Educational institutions should carry out disinfection works for prophylaxis in accordance with the protocol prescribed by the Ministry of Health.

On January 28, a presentation of films made with the participation of students was held at TSU College of Media and Television Arts.
Cognitive films were created to promote various professions, preceded by a competition for students.
As a result of the competition, four winning ideas were revealed in the following professions - dairy and dairy processing, poultry, ornamental plant gardener - florist and baker. A group of college students and staff were involved in the preparation, filming and editing of screenplays on the subject.
Representatives of the Georgian Farmers' Association, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, the United Nations Development Program and other professional colleges attended the screening of the films.
Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Tamar Kitiashvili delivered a speech after the screening of the films and praised the students' works.
At the end of the event, future plans were made and the idea of the next project emerged
With the financial support of the United Nations Development Program, TSU College of Media and Television Arts is implementing the project "Modernization of the Agricultural Vocational Education and Training System in Georgia, Phase 2".
The training was held at the New Wave College in Kobuleti from January 19 to January 25, 2020, with the participation of public relations managers of agricultural colleges.
For 6 days, the training instructors taught the beneficiaries how to take photos and edit, the specifics of creating a video product, and the strategy of planning an effective PR campaign.
The last 2 days of the training were fully dedicated to the shooting of the image video of the New Wave College, which was led by the production team of the TSU Media and Television Arts College.

The first phase of the project was completed, and in the next phase, the beneficiaries were instructed to submit image scripts for the colleges. The best 3 scenarios will be revealed by the representatives of the College of Media and Television Arts, according to which the production team will shoot an image video.
On December 20, 2019, Zurab Oshkhneli, Director of the TSU College of Media and Television Arts, and Tinatin Arjevanidze, Producer, paid a working visit to the Belarusian State Academy of Arts.
The meeting was attended by the Rector of the State Academy of Arts of Belarus and the heads of the Faculty of Screen Arts. At the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of future cooperation, which was later confirmed by the signing of a memorandum of cooperation.
The memorandum provides opportunities for specialists to conduct trainings, participate in a student exchange program and gain new work experience.
On December 18, 2019 Director of TSU Media and TV Art College, Zurab Oshkhneli and Producer, Tinatin Arjevanidze had an official visit to Kiev International University.
During the meeting both sides discussed the possibilities of future cooperation. Plans were made to train the specialists, participate in student exchange programs and gain new work experience.
The meeting was attended by Vice President, Vice rector, Director of the Institute of Journalism and other officials.
During the meeting, representatives of CMTV had the opportunity to visit Kiev International University museum, TV studio and attend the workshops.
The visit ended with the signing of the memorandum of Cooperation.

On October 29, the Gldani Vocational Training Center hosted the presentation of the second phase of the EU Youth Training and Employment Project (skills4jobs).
The priority of the Government of Georgia is to increase and develop the number of vocational schools. With the help of the European Union, vocational colleges are trained. The availability of qualified personnel in line with the requirements of the labor market will reduce the level of unemployment in the country in the future.
Within the framework of the event, an exhibition of various professional colleges was organized in Gldani school.
The visitor could see the showrooms of the vocational colleges in Georgia throughout the day and get information about them.
The virtual studio, arranged by the College of Media and Television Arts, attracted the special attention of the viewers.
The event was attended by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Georgia and the Ambassador of the European Union with a special delegation.
With the support of the European Union, it is planned to open vocational schools in the regions. The organizers of the event are planning many more activities in the future.
On 4th of October, 2019 Media and TV Art College celebrated its 30th anniversary of foundation. During the celebration week different specialists from Poland, USA and Georgia run the masterclasses for our students.
Celebration ceremony took place at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. All the former students were invited to attend the evening.
Celebration evening ended with the screening of Film, describing 3o years history of Television school.
Polish cameramen from Warsaw film school, Andrzej Wolf run the masterclasses at CMTV. The topic of the masterclass was Imaginal art – lenses we use, how focal length influenced art – range from 14 to 150 mm, hot light – key light, rim light – back light , how to create space from the scratch, low level light- dimmer use – additional dimmer needed. During three days students had an honor to work with Mr. wolf, ask him the questions and share the experience.
On 1,2 and 3 of October, Polish producer from Lodz film school, Marcin Malatysnki run the masterclasses at CMTV. The topic of masterclasses were fingerprints from 50’s till now, case study, how to make a low budget film, which will find it’s way into the international festival circuit.
On 1,2 and 3 of October director of Krakow school of art and fashion design, Jerzy Gawel run masterclasses in fashion photography at CMTV. During three days the students of photography program practised in editorial and street photography, how to make a lookbook, specifics of lighting, shooting and etc.
On 12 and 13 of September, Ia Meurmishvili, journalist of Voice of America and anchor of “Washington Today” run the masterclasses at CMTV for the students of Journalism and Video Operating program. The topic of the masterclass was “political interview”.
Georgian-American joint TV project “An ocean Apart, A world together” was successfully accomplished in 1996 for the first time. That was the kick off the long-termed partnership between CMTV and GHSTV.
After 23 years of friendship our students are here still together for the second part of our joint TV project “An ocean Apart, A world together: New Beginnigs”.
